Different Types of Building Plans

When looking for building plans, there are different ones you need to keep in mind.

Site Plan: This is a comprehensive drawing of the building and represents the whole plan of the building. It is the first design made for a project before going into the detailing process.

Floor Plan: This is the most fundamental architectural diagram and it’s a view from above showing the arrangement of spaces in the building.

Cross-Section: A cross-section is a horizontal orthographic projection of a building. It shows the details of the dimension and the thickness of any building component.

Elevation: Elevation building plans are projection drawings that show one side of the house or building. The purpose is to show the finished appearance of any given side.
